The NYS FOP Foundation is supporting Easter Seals with a toy drive for developmentally challenged children at a school in the Bronx. Based on the needs of the children, both physically and mentally, it is requested that donations be made to the foundation. This way appropriate toys can be purchased. Please mail your donation to NYS FOP Foundation at PO Box 275 Hicksville, NY 11802-0275. The NYS FOP Foundation is a recognized charity by the IRS and designated a 501 (C) -3 organization.

NEVER FORGET 9-11, 10 years later

It has been 10 years since the United States was attacked by terrorists who wanted to destroy our country and what we stand for. Fortunately, one cannot destroy a concept, only physical structures. Unfortunately, in destroying these structures they have killed many people. But in watching the various Memorials dedicated to 9-11, we can see the structures either repaired or being replaced. For the families of those killed, time has left a void in their lives. But the memories of those killed will never be forgotten.

Maybe the worst part of post 9-11, is first responders are still dying. Almost as many Law Enforcement Officers have died post 9-11 as on 9-11, itself. We should never forget those who have died post 9-11 and those who are suffering various sicknesses related to what they were exposed to during the searching and recovery operation.

History has shown going back to biblical times there have always been those who tried to destroy beliefs of others that contradict with theirs. Besides the biblical times we saw this during various wars. We saw this more recently starting with World War II and since then some other “wars” where people were killed because of their beliefs.

So please remember, as we the New York State Foundation will always remember, those who perished as a result of the terrorists who attacked this country.
